C type prints
true black and white paper - better to print black and white on that as colour paper has
a slight magenta hue
transparency -
light box with a photograph printed on transparent. Makes the image really pop
compared to a print I guess, seems a bit tacky to me - also very expensive -
800£ for one the size of half a door.
darkroom - drum scanners - he explained that they
got it exactly perfect when they first released the
software which was why they still ran it on OS 9, contrary to what Matt F from
Genesis told us that they never updated the drivers so once the computers die,
no more drum scans. Which is a shame because seeing the process up close it
looked like a good idea, he explained that the film goes in a fluid so there
cant be any defects, as the fluid goes into any scratches and takes away any
dust
I would love to work in a place like this as a retoucher/printer when I finish uni. I need to look into an apprenticeship.
