Maria Kapajeva - Homesick for 22 Minutes

This is probably my favourite of her series'. There are 22 images in the series, each photograph representing a minute. The framing never changes, the horizon isn't level to give the viewer the sensation of being on a boat, or the angle moves you forwards through the series. I wonder if it would be strong if each photograph was taken at a minute long exposure, there would be movement blur of the waves and sky, but the horzion would stay the same, however there would be almost no difference in the photos. There is not much difference now, but there would be even less difference. It works that the photographs have little difference in them, as the act of photographing is what makes the work. There doesn't need to be any differences.

I just chose 4 images from the series, you can see minor differences, with the addition of a boat or a bird. The sky is moving very slowly.
The rest are on her website: http://www.mariakapajeva.com/projects/homesick.html
