These are scans of some of my paper negatives. I took several exposures of each scene, with different filters, these were the most successful I felt.

MA Photography - Time - Colour Papers Development
I used several blue and cyan filters over the lens, to filter out the blue light and some green light.

To continue working in colour I found this pdf from fujifilms website, about the properties of the paper, to be honest I didn't understand most of it, but the bit that interested me, about the different colour sensitivities to light were these bits:
What they mean, as far as is in my understanding is that the blue and green in the paper are more sensitive to light than red is, I am not sure that the difference in wavelength has an effect on the image. If I managed to find a number of filters that would bring the exposure of blue and green in line with red, whether this difference in wavelength would have an effect.

What I want to do: Develop my practice of photographing unspecified moments on photographic paper with the use of colour
Why I want to do this: The aspect of time always moving forward is something that interests me totally. Because I feel very much time is limited. For example I only have a few short months to make this project. It feels like I am often searching for that perfect moment and it feels time often is un-measureable, for example recently I went to a teashop with a friend who I met on my degree. It felt like we were there not so long, as we chatted the time away, but also a sense of being there for a long time as the sun slowly set and the day turned to darkness. It is these moments I am interested in. I successfully built a project around this aspect, with other ideas of the camera as a spouse or the idea of the camera as a child under my care, I shot this project in black and white, being the easier option of black and white or colour. Now I want to develop this idea with the use of colour and what colour can symbolise for different people. Not just the simple idea of red for anger or love, green for jealousy, red or orange or yellow for danger, but the oppressive nature of vivid colour giving a sense of dystopian nightmare which has come from my first few prints. This dystopian nightmare compliments the nightmare of time disappearing like letting sand run from your fingers.
Also want to be able to correct the colour balance, and discover a neutral look, similar to what our eyes are used to seeing is something that can also represent my feelings surrounding time.
Materials:
5x4 camera, printing paper, scanner, R4 machine, printer.
Skills required:
I might make a 10x8 pinhole camera. So creative building, measuring gluing skills to create a light tight box.

What I want to do: Photograph the circus street building in its empty vacated state before its demolition Cadida Hofer style
Why I want to do this: The building will be saved indexically forever in my images, in the in-between state of being left and being destroyed, the empty buildings with marks on the wall will be frozen in time, with marks and posters on the walls, chairs and tables left, allude to the ghosts of the people spending their time there.
Materials: Camera, film, c41 machine, digital scanner, printer.

Working Title: Camera/Screen/Mirror
What I want to do: Have a camera/screen in a room, with a the screen showing a live food of what the camera is seeing, with seating facing the screen. The camera is there to capture the people watching the screen. They see themselves watching themselves for however long they like.
Why do I want to do this: I want to do this because it asks questions of the audience: How is time moving in the space, the moment of them sitting there, how much time do they waste looking at screens each day (tv, computer, smartphones), how much time do they spend in the moment, pointlessly watching themselves. Do they spend a long time there, wasting their limited time in the world, to wonder ideas of passing and wonder the implications of a mirror, or do they spend a short time, that the piece is not worth any time and is pointless to them.
Perhaps the project doesn't need to be inside, it can be outside on the street, so passers by have an easy access to this and can engage with it how they like. It would also ask about the idea of security cameras, and constantly being watched. This changed the meaning somewhat.
Materials: camera, projector, seating, wall
Skills required: Camera skills, eg, how to set the correct exposure for people watching a projection of themselves, perhaps lit only by the projection. If outside, the the projector will have to be bright enough to be seen during the day and the camera set to not overexpose the people

Working Title:
That moment when she arrives at the airport
What I want to do:
Expose a sheet of film for one week while my partner visits the UK
Why do I want to do this: My partner lives and works outside of the UK and I only get to see her once every few months when we have the time or money that we can visit each other. People take pictures and selfies when they see family and friends again. I witnessed many tourists with their friends and family taking the same pictures at Trafalgar Square the other day which made me think of my own loved one. How a camera can condense a 'moment' or a series of 'moments' into one plane, one sheet of film, one sheet of paper. The world around us in many dimensions, the always moving 'time' transfixed in one space, through a camera lens. I imagine the result will be a completely blown out dark sheet of film.
Another option is to photograph each day, so there will be 7 in total, and make a book of these moments. The time in this is a week, the concept of a 7 day week. Working 5 days and having a 2 day break that most people conform to. A book is a tactile thing one can hold in your hands and flip through and a pace that one feels comfortable with, it is a personal and intimate experience and is different to seeing prints on a wall. One cradles a book, take cares of it, holds it gently, caresses it. One can fall asleep with a book like one falls asleep with a lover.
A week is a significant entity. People often count down the weeks and the days until something happens, until an event. Like how I have been slowly counting down the weeks when I get to see my kulta.

book materials, paper, binding thread, needles, scissors, cloth/fabric, card
Skills required:
Camera use, Enlarging, developing film, developing paper, book making (i like to hand make my own books)

MA Photography
I have started my masters degree at University of Brighton. Its really cool, but quite different from my BA at Farnham. Our project to be finished by January has the theme of 'Time'.
